Quality really matters when it comes to hemp products, CBD and CBG

The Cold Press, Full Spectrum difference!

If you have used Sandhill Hemp products, you have definitely noticed it's green color and hempy smell. There is good reason for that, and here is why:

Sandhill Hemp uses Cold Press Extraction to capture and preserve all the plant compounds.

Cold pressed hemp oil (not to be confused with hemp seed oil) maintains delicate plant phytonutrients and acids that are temperature sensitive and can be degraded or depleted during other extraction methods.

Full Spectrum CBGA Tincture

When high heat or solvents are used to extract the hemp oil, the yield may improve, but the quality of the cannabinoids and other plant constituents, such as chlorophyll, terpenes and acids, are compromised and altered.

For example, THCA, CBGA, CBDA all lose the "A" or the acid. The acidic form of these cannabinoids are now being studied and showing a whole host of bioavailability and benefits that are not present in the decarboxylated form which metabolizes the acid and become THC, CBG, CBD, and so on for all the hundreds of cannabinoids.

CBGA to CBG conversion

Cold pressing results in oil that is richer in these beneficial, sensitive nutrients, contributing to the entourage effect and producing greater efficacy of the end product. When these compounds are maintained, this is known as a full-spectrum oil.

Full-spectrum hemp oil is one of three main types of hemp oil available to consumers. It's good to know the differences as the ingredients do vary as do its uses.

  • Full-spectrum contains all cannabinoids present in the strain of hemp plant that was cultivated, including trace amounts of THC (0.3% or less). Remember there are hundreds of Cannabinoids. Each plant strain will have a dominate cannabinoid and a varying degrees of other lesser concentrated cannabinoids. Sandhill Hemp grows both CBG and CBD dominate plants strains. Our THCA count is 0.03%. 10x lower than the legal amount.

  • Isolate contains just the isolated cannabinoid, for example CBD, which has been most popular recently but it does not mean it is superior. It has just been the first openly marketed cannabinoid. This means every other plant compound and cannabinoid has been removed. Isolates can be useful in certain formulations, especially when used as an additive to other products.

  • Broad-spectrum contains the dominant and lesser dominant cannabinoids, but no THC. This process does filter out some of the plant compounds including all traces of THC, a preferred option for some.

Many hemp connoisseurs consider full-spectrum CBD/CBG products to be more effective because they include all of the cannabis plant’s compounds plus up to 0.3% THC. We will discuss next why that 0.3% is SO important!

The 0.3% has been approved and legalized by the USDA. This trace amount is so low it will not get you "high". (Fun fact: If it is in the acid form, THCA, it can never get you high regardless of amount.) Full Spectrum Hemp produces what researchers have dubbed the “entourage effect,” meaning that all of the elements in the hemp products may work better together than a single cannabinoid used alone. That small amount of THC, that is naturally occurring in the plant is an important catalyst. Remember, these legal hemp plants are genetically selected to produce little (0.3%) to no THCA.

**Sandhill Hemp products have 0.03% of THCA. 10x lower than the legal amount. It cannot get you high, notably because of how low it is but also because it is the acidic form.
